Dashboard Widgets

The dashboard is the first thing you see when you open Workloom. It's made up of widgets — focused panels that surface what's happening right now, without you having to go looking for it.

Each widget is independent. They update automatically as your workspace data changes.

Team Overview

A snapshot of your workspace at a glance.

Shows:

  • Total number of people in the workspace
  • Active members (those with a login)
  • People currently on leave today
  • Active contracts

Good for: Starting the day with a quick sense of where things stand — especially useful after a weekend or holiday.

Upcoming Leave

A timeline of who's going on leave and when.

Shows:

  • Leave requests that have been approved and fall within the next 2–4 weeks
  • Name, leave type, and dates for each entry

Good for: Planning meetings, assigning work, and avoiding accidentally scheduling something on a day half the team is out.

tip

Check this widget at the start of the week. Spotting a gap in coverage early is much easier than finding out the day before.

Pending Approvals

A count of leave requests waiting for a decision.

Shows:

  • The number of requests currently in a pending state
  • A link to review them

Good for: Managers and admins who need to act on requests promptly. A non-zero number here means someone is waiting.

Who sees it: Managers and admins only. Members don't see this widget.

warning

Don't let pending requests sit. Members can see their request is pending and it creates uncertainty. Approve or decline with a note — it takes seconds.

Contract Alerts

Flags contracts that need attention.

Shows:

  • Contracts expiring within the next 30 days
  • Contracts that have already expired and haven't been renewed or ended
  • Links directly to the relevant contract

Good for: Staying ahead of renewals and avoiding the awkward situation where someone's contract has technically lapsed without anyone noticing.

tip

This widget only has useful data if contracts have end dates set. Open-ended contracts won't appear here — which is correct, but worth remembering when you set up a new contract.

Recent Activity

A log of what's been happening in the workspace.

Shows:

  • New people added
  • Contracts created or updated
  • Leave requests submitted or decided
  • Invitations sent

Entries are ordered by most recent first.

Good for: Admins keeping tabs on workspace changes, or picking up where you left off after time away. It's a lightweight audit trail without the formality.

My Leave Balance

A personal widget showing the current user's leave balance.

Shows:

  • Remaining days per leave type (e.g. vacation, sick leave)
  • Days already used this period

Good for: Members who want to check how much leave they have left before making a request — without having to navigate to their profile.

Who sees it: Each member sees only their own balance.

What you see depends on your role

If a widget doesn't appear on your dashboard, it likely isn't relevant to your role.
